EXHIBITIONS. At the Fogg, both Behind the Line: The Materials and Techniques of Old Master Drawings and Prints and Privileges: Regulating the Image in Sixteenth-Century Italy close on December 27. Continuing exhibits include Gian Lorenzo Bernini: Sketches in Clay; The Art of Identity: African Sculpture from the Teel Collection; Investigating the Renaissance; and The Persistence of Memory: Continuity and Change in American Cultures. At the Sackler, Mastery and Elegance: Two Centuries of French Drawings from the Collection of Jeffrey Horvitz opens on December 5. Remaining on view are Symbol and Substance: The Elaine Ehrenkranz Collection of Japanese Lacquer Boxes; Empress, Goddess, State: Depictions of Women on Ancient and Byzantine Coinage; and a wall drawing by Sol LeWitt, in the lobby. The Harvard Museum of Natural History assembles more than 5,000 beetles for an exhibit entitled The Beetle Boom: Beetle Stories and Beetle Secrets, opening on November 12. Call 495-3045 for details.

THEATER. The American Repertory Theatre presents The Marriage of Bette and Boo, by Christopher Durang '71, at the Hasty Pudding Theatre until November 8. CHORAL MUSIC. Professor of music Robert Levin's acclaimed completion of Mozart's Requiem receives a Harvard hearing when the Orchestra of Emmanuel Music joins the Harvard Glee Club, the Radcliffe Choral Society, and the Harvard-Radcliffe Collegium Musicum in a performance on December 13 at 8 p.m. in Sanders Theatre.
