Serena Mayeri graduated from Harvard/Radcliffe College in 1997, and received her J.D. (2001) and Ph.D. in history (2006) from Yale. She has been teaching legal history, family law, and employment discrimination at the University of Pennsylvania Law School since 2006, where is she is now professor of law and history. Her most recent publication is Reasoning from Race: Feminism, Law, and the Civil Rights Revolution, which was published by Harvard University Press in 2011. She is currently at work on a history of challenges to the primacy of marriage as a legal, social, economic, and political institution.
