Jennifer 8. Lee ’99, a New York Times reporter and former Ledecky Undergraduate Fellow at Harvard Magazine, appeared on The Colbert Report, Stephen Colbert’s satirical news program, this week to talk about her new book, The Fortune Cookie Chronicles, an exploration of Chinese restaurants in the United States.

Among Colbert’s questions: “Is Chinese food safer to eat than Chinese toys?”

Watch the video here and read Lee’s comments about her experience appearing on the show here. Read a quick take on her book in the current issue of Harvard Magazine, or a longer one in the Times Sunday Book Review, or see the book’s official website.
