Fall Sports in Brief

Field Hockey

The stickwomen (5-3, 2-0 Ivy) reeled off four wins to start their season, and beat Penn and Brown to kick off the Ivy campaign. Their three losses came against Connecticut (2-1), Massachusetts (1-0, a double-overtime thriller), and New Hampshire (4-3).

Men's Soccer

The men's soccer team (4-2-1, 0-1 Ivy) had a mixed start, dropping its first Ivy contest to Brown, 2-1, but shutting out Vermont, West Virginia, and Boston College by 1-0 scores and edging Northeastern 2-1.

Women's Soccer

The women's bid to defend their Ivy title got off to a rocky start; the Crimson (4-2, 1-1 Ivy) beat Penn, 2-1, but lost to Brown, 2-0, in Providence. An injury will sideline last year's leading scorer, Beth Totman '03, for the season.

Women's Volleyball

The netwomen (6-7, 0-0 Ivy) began their season with three losses, but bounced back with three wins. At the Harvard Classic, Providence beat the Crimson, 3-2, but Harvard then went on to 3-0 demolitions of Holy Cross and Hartford.
